The Best of the 183d

The 183d Wing has announced its Outstanding Airmen of the Year for 2021. Each year, the unit holds a competition to determine who its top performers are for that year. Enlisted members from four categories, airman (Amn), noncommissioned officer (NCO), senior noncommissioned officer (SNCO), and first sergeant (1st Sgt), submit packages highlighting leadership ability, job performance, community involvement, and personal achievements.

183d Wing Outstanding Airmen of the Year for 2021:
Senior Airman Kendall Mayes      Airman of the Year
Technical Sgt. Laura Wright         NCO of the Year
Master Sgt. Dylan Geer               SNCO of the Year
Master Sgt. Christine Teer           1st Sgt. of the Year

The Wing’s Outstanding Airmen then go on to compete against top performers from other Air National Guard units within the state, and then on to the National Guard Bureau where the Air National Guard Outstanding Airmen of the Year are selected.

The Outstanding Airmen of the Year program was created by the Air Force Association, and was started in 1956.
