183d Wing ABRAHAM LINCOLN CAPITAL AIRPORT, IL. –  The 183d Wing welcomed 45 inspectors from the Air Combat Command Inspector General’s (ACC/IG) office to base as part of a Unit Effectiveness Inspection (UEI) Capstone event March 4-6, 2022. This was the second UEI Capstone for the 183d Wing since the Air Force Inspection System (AFIS) was reformatted in 2013. The 183d received an overall rating of effective, as well as the same effective rating in all four major graded areas. This rating is based on a scale of highly effective, effective, marginally effective and ineffective.

The UEI Capstone is the final phase in the 48-60 month AFIS cycle. The inspection focuses attention on four major graded areas: managing resources, leading people, improving the unit, and executing the mission. ACC/IG, in turn, assesses how the wing is performing in each of these four major graded areas.

Colonel Gellner, 183d Wing Commander, was very pleased with the outcome. These ratings were a result of the professionalism, positive attitudes displayed, and job excellence showcased by the 183d Wing Airmen. Col Gellner looks forward to celebrating the team’s success and recognize superior performers during April Regular Scheduled Drill.
